New Hampshire is an American state located in both the Northeastern and New England regions. Captain John Mason named the state in honor of Hampshire County in England. It was the ninth recognized state and part of the original 13 colonies. Known as The Granite State for the natural resources found within its borders, New Hampshire also uses the nickname of The White Mountain State. With a population of more than 1.3 million residents, it ranks at number 41 on a list of the nation’s most populous states. New Hampshire also appears at number 46 on a ranking of all states in terms of their sizes.
The easiest way to find incarcerated people in New Hampshire is through the state’s inmate search.
Step 1: Visit the Inmate Locator maintained by the New Hampshire Department of Corrections.
Step 2: Enter the information that you have available. You can search with just the offender’s last name or their first name, too.
Step 3: Check out the names to find the right inmate. Though the New Hampshire DOC does not let you view records, it will show you the crimes that an individual committed along with the facilities that house them and their possible release dates.
The Registration of Criminal Offenders allows you to look for sex offenders. This database does not include information on offenders who live in New Hampshire but committed offenses in different states.
Step 1: Visit the Registration of Criminal Offenders.
Step 2: Enter as much information as you can to find an offender. While you can use both their first and last names, you can also enter an address or county. Make sure that you select New Hampshire from the drop-down menu as multiple states use the same site.
Step 3: View all of the names that match your search. If you do not find the right person, you can click a button on the bottom of the page to return to the search page. The New Hampshire DOC shows you both the offender’s full name and date of birth along with their address and any known aliases.
Step 4: Click on one of the names that you see to view their criminal record. You get to see a photo along with a list of crimes committed and the sentences handed down to the offender. The state also tells you whether the person is still in prison or jail.
