About Pennsylvania State
Pennsylvania is in fact a commonwealth, not a state. It is the fifth-largest state with two main cities, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. The U.S. Declaration of Independence was written here. It is also the home of Valley Forge, where General George Washington spent a winter during the revolutionary war.
Extreme weather is somewhat common, and tornadoes touch down every year; hurricanes can affect the eastern part of the state. United Airlines Flight 93 crashed in Pennsylvania during the 9/11 attacks. It is also the state where the first oil well was ever drilled, which led to a boom in oil production across the nation.
Pennsylvania Inmate Search
Step 1: Go to Pennsylvania Inmate/Parolee Locator to get your search started. This will pull up the page that allows you to search for inmate records.
Step 2: A disclaimer will pop up in the middle of the screen. You need to read the disclaimer and then agree to it before you can start your inmate search. This disclaimer is fairly basic and should not pose too much of a problem.
Step 3: Choose whether you want to search for an inmate or someone on parole. They are two different searches so make sure you pick the right one. You probably want to search for inmates which is fine. It is also the default left hand side choice.
Step 4: You will then get a list of names that match your search. Take a close look at them and pick the one that you are actually looking for. Please remember that many inmates have similar names to be as precise as possible.
Step 5: Click on their inmate number. This will pull up their mugshot and a list of aliases. You will also find the name and address of the facility they are being incarcerated at. This should be the information you are looking for.
It’s also possible to search the Pennsylvania sex offenders list. Be careful when using this list. The commonwealth has multiple laws limiting the way the list can be used. You cannot use the data you get to threaten or intimidate anyone. It is a purely informational resource.
Once you perform your search, you will be brought to a page listing all of the sex offenders in Pennsylvania along with their mugshots so you can make sure you have searched the right person.

Pennsylvania Parole Board
As we noted before on the main inmate search page, you can look up information on people in the parole system. You simply have to start a new search. Instead of clicking on the left hand side tab, click on the right hand side tab. You will get a similar search form and can start your search. You will get back similar information but this time about people on parole and not current inmates.
You can also look up people who are in some way not honoring the conditions of their parole. The Parole Board Absconders List has names and photos of these individuals, and there is a search function as well.
Pennsylvania Department of Corrections Facilities
You also have the option to directly contact various corrections facilities in Pennsylvania. They are authorized to give out specific information about an inmate who is spending time there. While this takes longer than doing a general inmate search, it can also be a valuable tool.
