Inmate Search in Tennessee - The Ultimate Guide 2024

About Tennessee State

Originally, Tennessee was a part of North Carolina until it gained statehood on June 1, 1796. It earned the nickname “The Volunteer State” due to the significant number of its citizens who volunteered during the War of 1812. Notably, it held the distinction of being the last state to join the Confederacy when the Civil War erupted, and it was also the first state allowed to rejoin the Union after the war’s conclusion.

While Tennessee initially relied on a farm-based economy, this began to evolve in the 20th Century. The state played a pivotal role in housing the Manhattan Project and ultimately became the site where the only two nuclear bombs ever used in warfare were manufactured.
